LEXICON OF SHADOWS
This series studies the passage of time through traces of subtle shifts in atmospheric conditions: the movement of air, shadow and light across the surface of a white wall in an intimate interior space. By translating the movement of shadow and light, our most basic iteration of time, into the time-based medium of photography, and then looping the still images into an animated cycle, shadow and stillness are written and repeated, almost like the iteration of a phrase. In the Lexicon of Shadows, an utterance of the velocities, accelerations, and stillness of past time is returned to the current moment.
